MEET OUR COMMUNITY OUTREACH advocate

Dr. Kiley Petersmith, DNP, RN, CPEN, CPN, is an assistant professor and public health nurse educator with experience across pediatric, emergency, and community health settings. Her work focuses on health equity, policy, and community based approaches that support individuals and families navigating complex systems of care.

In her academic role at Nebraska Methodist College, Kiley teaches and mentors future public health leaders, preparing them to advance equitable health outcomes through policy, practice, and advocacy. She has led and supported community engagement initiatives, including the development of mobile health programs that deliver care directly to people where they live, work, and gather.

Kiley brings extensive experience in building community partnerships, managing grant funded and donor supported programs, and serving on state and regional health advisory boards. Her work has included leadership roles in nursing and public health coalitions, as well as research, publication, and presentation on pediatric health equity, environmental health, and prevention.

Kiley joined Maggie Pop’Nz because the mission reflects her lifelong commitment to inclusion, caregiver support, and community centered care. She brings a systems level perspective grounded in lived experience, professional practice, and a belief that access, dignity, and joy should be part of everyday life for families caring for children with complex needs.
